President – Sophie Cole
Sophie is responsible for setting the agenda for Inns this academic year. She works closely with the Law School and other institutions to create opportunities for members and to foster our Society’s relationship with the wider legal community. The President’s role also involves delivering talks both inside and outside of the Law School about our society and the opportunities we provide.
Vice-President – Hannah Foley
As Vice-President, Hannah is responsible for assisting the President with organisational and logistical aspects of the Society. Her job involves liaising and corresponding with people, both inside and outside of the law school, to ensure the successful delivery of events.
Treasurer – Lauren Winser
As Treasurer, Lauren’s duty is to ensure that Inns is operating within its means. She guarantees the efficient and smooth running of our events by ensuring that we pay people on time, and have the necessary funds to deliver our roster of outstanding events.
Secretary – Rachel Greig
Rachel is responsible for the online presence of the Society including our Facebook and Instagram posts and publishing articles and write ups for our events which are posted on our website. She also provides valuable support for all of our events, including the National Mooting Competition and writes up the minutes for all of our meetings.
Moot President – TBD
Our Moot President is responsible for organising and delivering our largest event – the ‘National Mooting Competition’. This is an annual, nationwide competition which sees the top 10 Speed Mooters debate alongside other universities and those on the BPTC. His/ Her duties include arranging for esteemed legal professionals to judge the competition. In previous years we have had interest from the most senior judges in the United Kingdom – Supreme Court Justices.
Academic Events Co-ordinator – Zahra Dalal
As Academic Events Co-ordinator, Zahra is responsible for arranging events which will further your academic skills and provide the opportunity for further self development. Her remit also extends to arranging talks, dinners and tours at the Inns of Court to enable our members to learn more about, and gain a deeper understanding of, each of the Inns
Social Secretary – India Needs
As Social Secretary, India is responsible for organising the Society’s social events. This ranges from our Welcome Party and Christmas Ball, through to nights out and casual sports tournaments. If you’re looking for info on any of our great socials – India is the person to contact.
Speed Moot Co-ordinator – Josiah Kirpalani
As Speed Moot Co-ordinator Josiah is responsible for organising the speed moots in the first semester. This involves formulating and distributing moot problems and skeleton arguments for all competitors. He also liaises with judges and keeps track of scores in each round.
