Hi, my name is Rachel and I am running for the position of secretary for the Inns of Court Society.
Having held the position of Negotiations Officer for the University of Southampton Law Society this year, I have developed the necessary organisational skills to be able to excel in this role. Organising the negotiation competition has been a challenging yet rewarding role and I have loved being involved with the Society. I feel as though I can transfer these skills into the Inns of Court committee in order to improve communication of events within the society and provide necessary support to all other committee members in carrying out administrative tasks.
I have well-established admin skills, which can be evidenced through my correspondence of the negotiations competition and I also have good links within the law school, developed through being a PASS mentor and taking part in Streetlaw, which will help improve interactions with Inns.
I am a very approachable person so am keen to relay ideas from society members to the committee so we can ensure that Inns is providing valuable experiences for all.
I have always been an excellent team player and will always aim to do what is best for everyone, rather than just for the interests of a few, which I will implement into the role of secretary.
If voted in I will strive to maintain Inns presence on social media, improve communication between the Law Society and Inns of Court for shared social events and provide support to all the other members of the committee in the successful completion of their roles.
I am very excited for the opportunity to join the society committee and see law from a different point of view.
