Last Thursday saw Inns’ very own Sarah Pimblett and Amber Athill defeat the University of Exeter in the first round of the Landmark Chambers Mooting Competition.
Southampton were delighted to welcome the judge, who was none other than Landmark Chambers’ very own Aaron Walder; a practicing barrister currently at Landmarks specialising in property law.
The problem before the court was by no means straightforward and both advocates advanced cogent, original and thoughtful arguments to the court.
The competition was stiff, however, with Exeter putting forth two of the most able advocates, whose arguments were of the highest order.
At the end of evening however, it was Southampton who emerged victorious. The judge praised their command of the courtroom and their ability to think and answer clearly on their feet during judicial intervention.
Congratulations to Amber and Sarah on doing the Law School and Inns’ proud!
We are eagerly awaiting round 2.
